Summary from GoodReads:"Sookie Stackhouse is a cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. She's pretty and well-mannered and has only a few close friends - which isn't surprising, since not many people can appreciate Sookie's abilities as a mind reader. It's not a quality that has the guys beating down her door - unless they're vampires, werewolves, or other supernatural beings. And now some of them aren't just friendly - they're family." "When Sookie sees her brother Jason's eyes start to change, she knows he's about to turn into a werepanther for the first time - a transformation he embraces more readily than most shapeshifters she's known. But her concern for her brother becomes cold fear when a sniper sets his deadly sights on the local changeling population - and Jason's new panther brethren suspect he may be the shooter." Now, Sookie has until the next full moon to find out who's behind the attacks - unless the killer decides to find her first.
My Review: {This book is for adult readers} --Sookie Book #5: The changes have started and pirates are visiting. And there's plenty of target practice. Who's getting shot? Why? I bet you can't guess who's behind it. We also get to see Sookie, with the help of her Vampire friends, get Tara out of a bad relationship, but will her friend thank her for it?
Kissing games are in Charlaine Harris' latest Bon Temps book too. Who kisses who? And, if your counting, Sookie already has way more than her fair share of suitors...in this book, there may be even more in sight for our town telepath.
Sookie manages to become a double friend of the "pack' and is hanging out and getting some extra attention and protection from still another pack. {and we wonder how she gets herself into things...you can't dip from more than one jar at a time}.
In book five, it seems Sookie finds herself with more things to sort out, more messes to fix and around more dead bodies.
Another brilliant novel from Charlaine Harris. She right back up there. As a matter of fact, I'm going to pick up my kids from school and get right into book #6. Be sure to have it on hand to see what happens next.
